Under the Coronavirus Response and Relief Supplemental Appropriations Acts of 2021 and the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021, Congress authorized FEMA to provide up to $9,000 in financial assistance to cover burial costs and related funeral expenses for those who have died as a result of COVID-19.
Curtis Smith, Licensed Funeral Director at Gather, with the “5 Questions About FEMA You Need Answered”
At Gather, we are dedicated to helping funeral professionals help more families. The continued devastation in the wake of COVID-19 has brought overwhelming grief to many families and we are humbled to be able to provide any information we can to help ease some of the administrative stress caused by the pandemic.
In response to the recent announcement, the Gather team has leapt into action to quickly implement enhancements within our own system to assist in helping funeral professionals better help their families through the FEMA funeral assistance program application process.
We have also created a free Information sheet and a free custom branded Checklist. We’d love for you to take advantage of these free resources to help your families know if they are eligible for funeral assistance and to help them begin gathering all of the required application documentation.
If you are interested in the free, branded Checklist for your funeral home, please email marketing@gather.app with your name, funeral home name, and logo and we will do the rest!
